SASH is a peer-led industry initiative that cares about your privacy. We only collect data as it might be needed to deliver our services to you and to improve our website performance. In most instances, our services do not require personally identifying information.
We comply with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) (Privacy Act) and the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs). This Privacy Policy (Policy) should be read in conjunction with the Act and the APPs.

What information do we collect?
We collect your information so that we can provide efficient services when you contact us. Most of your personal data is collected directly when you submit it through our online forms, this includes when you

Account related information is collected in association with your use of our services, such as information request, customer service requests and notes explaining what you asked for and how we responded.
SASH website
The SASH website collects two types of information. The first type is anonymous information. The web server makes a record of your visit and logs the following information for statistical purposes: the user’s server address;
the user’s top level domain name (e.g. com, .gov, .net, .au, etc.);
the date and time of the visit to the site;
the pages accessed and documents downloaded;
the previous site visited; and
the type of browser used.
Cookies

How we secure, store and retain your data.
We follow generally accepted standards to store and protect the personal data we collect, both during transmission and once received and stored, including utilisation of encryption where appropriate.
We retain personal data only for as long as necessary to provide the services you have purchased and thereafter for a variety of legitimate or legal purposes.
By providing personal information you consent to your information being stored and processed on a data server or data servers (e.g. cloud services) owned by a third party or third parties that may be located outside of Australia. We will take reasonable steps to ensure that any third party providers comply with the APPs. If personal information is only routed through servers located outside of Australia – this not regarded as a disclosure. Wherever reasonably practicable we hold physical personal information in access controlled premises. When we no longer requires your personal information for a specific purpose and we are not required to keep it to comply with any laws, we will take such steps as are reasonable in the circumstances to destroy your personal information or to ensure that the information is de-identified.

How you may seek access and/or correction to personal information
You have the right to request access to your personal information and request that it be updated or corrected. In most cases, you can gain access to your personal information that we hold. You must provide proof of identity to seek access to your personal information. We may refuse to provide access if permitted to do so by law or under the APPs. We will aim to provide access to your personal information within 30 days of receipt of a valid request and may charge you a reasonable fee for doing so.
How you may complain about a breach of the APPs

All complaints must be written. Please provide all details about your complaint as well as any supporting documentation.
How we will deal with complaints
We aim to deal with privacy complaints as follows:
complaints will be treated seriously;
complaints will be dealt with promptly;
complaints will be dealt with confidentially;
complaints will be investigated; and
the outcome of an investigation will be provided to the complainant where the complainant has provided proof of identity.
SASH will try to respond within 30 days of receipt of a valid complaint.
Children’s Privacy.
Our website does not address anyone under the age of 13 (“Children”). We do not knowingly collect personally identifiable information from children under 13. If you are a parent or guarding and you are aware that your children has provided us with personal data, please contact us at hello.sash@outlook.com. If we become aware that we have collected personal data from a child under age 13 without verification of parental consent, we take steps to remove that personal data from our database.
Compliance with laws.
We will disclose your personal data where required to do so by law or subpoena or if we believe that such action is necessary to comply with the law and the reasonable requests of law enforcement or to protect the security or integrity of our website.
